Certification of management systems

Why certify ?  If we ignore the customer’s requirement for his sub-supplier to have a certified management system, certification is an independent verification of the effectiveness of the management system of various processes in the company. Certification offers repeated independent assessments by experts with experience from the external environment, makes it possible to discover reserves and get ideas for improvements. And last but not least, an auditor can also be an instrument for the easier pushing through of changes in the management system of any processes.

Production quality, environmental impact, work safety, information security, energy consumption...  These are key parameters that a company must manage. Frequently, measures leading to the improvement of one parameter negatively influence another parameter; an integrated management system makes it possible to find the optimum solution in the areas of investments, process changes or human resources management.
Investments  Based on our experience, the acquisition of new production equipment, and especially its exchange, very significantly influences the company’s operations in the near as well as more distant future. When selecting the requirements for new equipment, it is necessary to make an integrated assessment of the impact on parameters in the area of production quality, energy consumption, environmental impact and work safety risks.
Process changes   If changes to key production parameters are being made, usually for reasons of their optimal setup, the company loses a certain amount of time by searching and testing. In the case of integrated planning and management, process optimization is significantly shortened.
Human resources   Selecting, training, motivating and managing people keeps getting more and more expensive. An integrated approach can result in considerable savings.

Product certification -> system certification

CertificationProduct certification   Product trialing and testing is a fundamental condition for determining its characteristics from the perspective of qualitative parameters, environmental impact or any risks in its use by consumers. The requirement for attaining parameters by trialing a standard product logically leads to the subsequent requirement for ensuring the same parameters in the entire production run.
System certification   Management system certification is basically a compromise between testing a product piece by piece and economical criteria. System certification is a set of measures for ensuring an unchanging environment and processes, ensuring the preservation of the parameters of the tested standard unit.
Compromise or optimization   And it is the combination of the certification of a product type with a systems approach that is the compromise as well as optimal solution between ensuring top quality and keeping internal costs at a competitive level. 
 

Certification and marketing

Certification of marketing ?   Today, a certificate is not a competitive advantage, it is usually a necessity. A benefit is the fact that in our external audits we pay attention to the linkages between marketing and the production management system. In our opinion, marketing must primarily create the requirements for the management system, not only for the quality management system, but also management system of the environmental impacts and other parameters. Global customers are starting to take into account not only the quality of the product that they have purchased, but also under which conditions the product was produced in relation to the environment and employee work conditions.
Certificates and the end-consumer.   Certificates and certification systems were primarily implemented in relations between customers and suppliers on a company level, and later they evolved as a condition for public tenders. For a long time the end-consumer did not care whether the company has or does not have a certificate. But according to the latest research, the end-consumer frequently notices the existence of certificates when browsing company websites, and it is frequently a deciding criterion when purchasing the company’s products, especially in cases where the company’s brand is not well known by the public.
